Job Description

Teledyne Relays (a business unit of Teledyne Defense Electronics, LLC), is a manufacturer of Electromechanical Relays, Solid State Relays, Power Controllers, RF COAX Switches and RF switching systems. The primary manufacturing facilities are located in the United States, Taiwan and France. We are a vertically orientated manufacturing and design company with major operations in Southern California.

Teledyne Relays is seeking an Assembler 2 for to our Solid-State group to perform assembly operations of a semi-skilled nature.

  • Apply thick film printing techniques using screen printing equipment and conductive, non-conductive and resistor pastes to produce ceramic substrates for use in our Solid-State and Power Products lines

    • Will work with high temperature belt furnaces to fire the various pastes onto the ceramic substrates
    • Work with a microscope, soldering equipment and a variety of hand tools -
  • Use various measurement equipment to ensure all product requirements are met and maintained within specified limits

    • May perform a wide variety of other assembly operations such as solder and epoxy die attach, and hand solder leads to SSPCs as production requirements demand
    • Determine method and sequence of assembly following the process/procedures/layouts provided on Solid State and Power devices and substrates.
    • Identify and select components to be integrated into subassembly and assembly units
    • Perform rework and other duties as assigned/requested; gives and provides feedback, dependable and seeks opportunity
    • Use a computer to access job-related information, drawings, specifications and issue materials to work orders
    • Apply acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks while working safely, works on assignments routine in nature, requires instructions only on new assignments. Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills, share expertise with others; listens and requests for clarification
    • Identify and resolve problems/issues in a timely manner - Shows respect to others, keeps emotions in control, work ethically, demonstrates persistence to overcome obstacles while monitoring work for accuracy and quality to meet productivity standards

Requirements

  • Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent, knowledge of basic math, certified hand soldering a plus

  • 1 - 2 years of previous/related experience as an assembler and/or training with ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one or small group situation

  • Must have excellent eye-hand coordination, good dexterity to assemble small parts

  • Ability to work with indicated equipment such as tweezers and test equipment

  • Must be able to work with a microscope.

  • Have the ability to learn/train on all phases of process, procedures and drawings, complete paperwork, basic computer skills, write short correspondence or memos

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form -

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Will occasionally stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop/bend, push/pull, be able to lift or carry up to 10lbs; will frequently need to sit, hear for instructions or feedback, and will continuously need to use hands to handle or feel.

    • VISION REQUIREMENTS: will need to be able to determine close vision, be able to distinguish colors, have peripheral vision, and determine depth perception
    • WORK ENVIRONMENT: Air-conditioned cleanroom; will need to work near moving mechanical parts, and/or be in contact with moving mechanical equipment and may be exposed to vapors, fumes or airborne particles (safely below standards). Noise level is quiet.

Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a "US Person" (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees).

Salary Range:

$35,090.00-$46,970.000
