Job Description
Teledyne Technologies Incorporated specializes in providing a broad range of high technology solutions and products to the marketplace. Teledyne Imaging Sensors is an integral member of the Digital Imaging Segment of Teledyne Technologies. Imaging Sensors provides advanced imaging solutions for a variety of customers, including the DoD, NASA, prime system integrators, and commercial customers. In the civilian space arena, Teledyne sensors are the most advanced sensors on board the Hubble space telescope, and they are also found on board the majority of NASA space probes and ground based telescopes. In the DoD arena, Teledyne sensors are integrated into several major systems for persistent surveillance, chemical detection, and target identification, among others.
The position is a key leadership role in the organization. This role performs a wide range of accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis for Teledyne Scientific & Imaging. Partners with the business unit Presidents to achieve financial metrics and drive key initiatives in cost control, working capital, process and ERP system improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Brings a strategic and operational focus to critical programs, business unit planning and financial operations, with a particular emphasis on delivery of financial plans and improved cost and compliance controls.
Leads month-end close, ensures revenue recognition and COGS have been properly recorded and reviews shared services transactions, such as payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and other general accounting entries.
Responsible for coordinating, preparing and analyzing the total company annual business plan and on-going rolling forecasts of orders, sales, profit, managed working capital, inventory, past due backlog and cash flow.
Establishes best practices for program budgets, EACs, tracking of actuals to budget, variance explanations and charge collection setup to be consistent with WBS structure.
Assesses risk and opportunities in support of EACs and rolling forecast revenue and profit projections.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams (Program Managers, Engineering, Operations, Contracts, and Purchasing ) to provide end-to-end financial support.
Publishes forward pricing rates and factors at least once a year and monitors the performance of these rates and factors throughout the entire year.
Leads and coordinates internal and external audits.
Supervise accounting, program control, pricing and financial planning management staff and establishes staff development plans for key personnel.
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:
Knowledge of DoD program cost and schedule management practices or similar SOX compliance regulations
Must be comfortable managing multiple projects with high priorities and ability to produce quality results in a tight timeframe
Ability to effectively interface with both internal and external management and personnel
Clearly communicates and presents data, both in writing and verbally
Knowledge of financial analysis/reporting, EVMS techniques, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), FAR/DFAR, proposal pricing, and applicable government billing systems (WAWF)
Knowledge of Accounting, Contracts and Subcontracts procedures
Knowledge and experience in GAAP
Knowledge of project management and project control tools such as Costpoint, TM1, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise, develop, mentor and coach accounting, program control, pricing and financial planning staff.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
Experience in operational finance, including financial analysis, cost accounting, forecasting and planning, and accounting
Experience interacting with internal and external auditors
Salary Range:
$118,800.00 - $199,100.00
