Job Description
Summary:
The role will focus on Corporation Tax and VAT compliance, reporting and accounting for Teledyne UK Limited. There are opportunities to expand the role to cover additional Teledyne entities in the UK and internationally.
The role will report directly to UK tax manager/director and will have a dotted reporting line to UK Compliance Controller for VAT aspects of the role.
The UK tax team is part of the Teledyne Group Tax team located across USA, Canada, UK and continental Europe.
There will be substantial coordination with the wider UK businesses both in Chelmsford and wider UK sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Corporation tax responsibilities:
Monthly, quarterly and annual preparation of current and deferred tax estimates for Teledyne Group US GAAP and UK statutory reporting including:
Preparation of general ledger journals
Preparation of current tax rollforward analysis (including tax payment and refund data) and deferred tax detail
Preparation of monthly and quarterly Group tax submissions
Supporting other ad hoc requests
Support preparation of corporate tax computations and returns in conjunction with outsourced tax provider and Statutory and Tax Accountant including:
Detailed analysis of tax sensitive GL accounts and fixed assets
Sales and profit analysis for UK patent box claims
Preparation of UK RDEC claims
Budget and regular forecast updates for:
UK Corporation Tax payments (including management of Group Payment Arrangement)
Effective Tax Rates
Provide support for any HMRC Corporation Tax inquiries and questions
Provide support for other ad hoc projects, including acquisitions and legal entity restructurings
VAT responsibilities:
Monthly preparation of Teledyne UK Limited VAT return, to include:
Review and consolidation of Business Unit (BU) provided data ensuring compliance with HMRC legislation
Coordinate analysis of PVA import VAT for recovery
Reconciliation of e2v UK VAT control accounts and settlement of BU VAT liabilities/refunds
Provide support on any HMRC VAT reviews and inquiries
Provide wider business with technical support on VAT matters, with support from UK tax manager and outsourced technical support
Oversight and ownership of SAP4Hana system with regard to VAT treatment, to include system testing and support of wider system improvements
Provide support for other ad hoc projects, including acquisitions and legal entity restructurings
Experience:
Ideally with a tax and/or accounting qualification, or qualified by experience
Experience of preparing VAT returns
Experience of ERP systems, ideally SAP/SAP4Hana
Experience of preparing tax packs/returns, ideally with exposure to tax software
Minimum of intermediate excel skills
Excellent planning and organisational skills
