Job Description
Teledyne Gas & Flame Detection has brought together industry leading products to provide our customers with fixed-point and portable gas detectors and controllers with proven reputations for quality and reliability. Every second of every day, our hazardous gas detection monitors are making workplaces like these safer around the world.
Job Summary – Maintains the ISO Quality Management System and works on quality assurance oriented projects aimed at improving yields, improving on-time delivery, improving supply chain quality, and improving field reliability. Will perform some routine QC inspection of incoming, in-process, and final product.
Essential Functions
Quality Assurance and ISO 9001 Management Representative Job Functions :
Maintain the Quality System, maintain test equipment and perform product inspections in accordance with the company's quality system. As ISO Management Representative and ATEX Representative, responsible for preparation and execution of 3rd party quality system audits. ISO Representative ensures that the quality system complies with the requirements of ISO 9001 standard and ATEX addendums. Update the Quality Management System during the normal course of evolutions in new products and new procedures. Prepares the agenda and conducts Manage Review Meetings.
Quality Control Job Functions :
Perform second level and final product inspections. Initiates, assists in closure, and manages timeliness of the CAR (and PAR) database logs. Is ultimately responsible for assuring corrective actions are timely and sufficient. Provides the main source for execution of Internal Audits and is ultimately responsible for their accuracy and completeness. Provides limited support to Engineering with new product validation and release processing. Provides maximum support to Production in improving manufacturing/test processes and procedures with particular focus on Final Test and Calibration. Provide support and assistance to Purchasing in the evaluation and selection of new vendors. Works closely with outside CM’s and other suppliers to improve quality of incoming parts. Works with all departmental functions to not just identify problems, but also help provide good solutions.
Additional Duties
Identify measurable and sustainable solutions to operational challenges. Track actions and make people accountable for those.
Engage multiple departments in participants' organizations with a quality mindset.
Conduct Quarterly Factory Audits with various Approval Agencies (CSA, FM, ETL…)
Train employees on requirements for proper following of the QM system.
Train and coach QA/QC Team staff and assist with Production staff to optimize their effectiveness.
Prep for required EPC–related inspection/test protocols and documentation requirements
Prep and monitor useful statistical metrics for continuing process improvement.
Function as the Safety Manager for the Company and facility.
Manage the internal MRB review process.
Education/Skill/Experience
5+ years of QA/QC experience in directly managing an ISO 9001 certified Quality System. Should have strong experience in managing quality control of outside suppliers and contract manufacturers. Previous experience in electronics or other engineering discipline is highly preferred.
