Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a "US Person" (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts involving continuous improvement of existing qualified products.

  • Support initiatives for qualification/validation of replacement, supplemental, or modified products.

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with Supplier Quality as needed to address issues that are technical in nature to improve manufacturability while maintaining or improving the reliability of the product

  • Work with procurement personnel to qualify new materials that may support existing product replacement or provide a second sourcing solution

  • Support updating engineering process documents as necessary, related to project engineering

  • Support generation and implementation of documents that are required to support new or evolving industry specifications.

  • Support driving design and process related solutions to resolve recurring nonconformances, both pre-delivery and post-delivery

  • Multi-task several projects simultaneously to ensure timely, effective, and within budget completion of assigned projects.

  • Communicate with customers and suppliers as needed to support continuous improvement projects.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Project Engineering Manager.

Education and Experience:

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline

  • 3+ years engineering experience that involved design related decision making while collaborating with other functional areas

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to product improvement/ development/ design.

  • Highly organized.

  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals.

  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment; able to change direction, remain flexible and respond.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

  • A “can-do” attitude.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Internet.

  • Professional appearance and working demeanor
