Job Description

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Equipment Manager, the Equipment Technologist is responsible for providing support to specified work centers in Teledyne MEMS front and back end operational areas (Lithography, Bonding, CVD/ETCH/Furnaces, Metal, Wet Processing, Dicing, Back End & Assembly). * *

Detailed Description:

  • Responsible for designated equipment set including: 

  • Tracking tool stat us via MES, 

  • Maintaining all documentation (manuals), 

  • Sourcing & maintaining tool spares inventory, 

  • Maintaining & updating preventative maintenance procedures & data collections, 

  • Interface with equipment vendor. 

  • Work effectively with operations & engineering teams to address short and long-term process issues. 

  • Work both within a team environment to provide effective support throughout the manufacturing facility, as well as, independently on assigned projects. 

  • Provide mentorship and training to junior members of the equipment maintenance team. 

  • Provide training to transfer PM tasks to operations staff. 

  • Provide emergency coverage & support as necessary. 

  • Trouble shooting of issues with designated tools. 

  • Escalation of required resources (internal & external) to effect timely repairs to reduce tool down time. 

  • Identify and document tool failure modes to improve preventative maintenance and reduce downtime of the tool. 

Requirements:

  • Educational and/or relevant industrial experience; 

  • Relevant Technical Diploma with minimum 7 years relevant experience, or 

  • Relevant Associates Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience. 

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in; electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical & chemical systems. 

  • RF systems knowledge an asset. 

  • Vacuum system knowledge is an asset. 

  • Chemical handling; WHMIS & TDG. 

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to work well in a team environment. 

  • Excellent communications skills. 

  • Clean room familiarity is an asset.
