Job Description

Job Summary:

Production Support/Manufacturing Specialist

Teledyne FLIR is seeking a talented Manufacturing Specialist or Engineer for the Production team in the Laval, Quebec office.

This ISO 9001 FLIR facility designs, builds and services advanced surveillance radar systems that are sold worldwide. Our radar systems are amongst the best performers and most reliable in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing team for acceptance testing of electronic assemblies, RF assemblies, antennas and complete radar systems.

  • Troubleshoot, analyze non-conformance, identify root cause, resolve complex technical issues and implement corrective action as required;

  • Design test fixtures, test methods and standard test times to improve testability

  • Define, implement and improve manufacturing flow

  • Document assembly and test procedures, deviations and calibration methods.

  • Report design, reliability, and maintenance problems to design engineering/software engineering

  • Interface with engineering team for New Product Introduction and continuing support

  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing with customers upon request.

  • Training and audits: Conduct audits and training for quality and production efficiency.

  • Continuous improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities in manufacturing

  • Other duties as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor in Engineering or related field, or senior technician with relevant experience

  • 5+ year experience in an electronic manufacturing environment

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

  • Experience in a small business environment is a plus

  • Bilingual – strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English

  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

  • Knowledge of Python (asset)

  • Knowledge of RF equipment (network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, etc.) (asset)

Eligible to be certified to examine, possess, and transfer items under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and legally authorized to work in Canada
