Job Description

Summary

Prepares and maintains accuracy of accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to procedural standards. Assists management with data entry, analysis, and reconciliation across multiple areas including Payables, Receivables, Fixed Assets, Cost, and Payroll. May assist with Budgeting, Forecasting, Reporting, and other duties as required. Candidate should seek continuous improvement and efficiency in all processes while adhering to GAAP, SOX, and other Government Contract Accounting guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Records invoices for payment and serves as primary supplier contact for account issues.

  • Collaborates with Material Handling to research and resolve price and quantity discrepancies.

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Coordinate physical inventory activities.

  • Tracks expenditures for capital purchases and provides regular status reports.

  • Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.

  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.

  • Serves as back-up for other accounting duties.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university in Accounting or Finance, and a minimum of 5-10 years of directly related experience and/or training
