Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a New Product Planner who will be responsible for planning the assembly and test of new products from receipt of the order to shipping. This responsibility includes planning, scheduling and monitoring the movement of materials through the production cycle then, shipping the product to the customer on or before the due date. Responsibility will also include prioritizing new products through production to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay. All duties are expected to be performed with minimal supervision.

Detailed Description:

  • Work closely with New Product Team (Program Managers, Design Engineering, Systems Engineering, etc.) to determine the workflow and ensure the proper requirements are put into the MRP.

  • Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.

  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.

  • Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, collaborating with management, sales, production and/or engineering.

  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.

  • Plan and monitor inventory of Work in Progress (WIP)

  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

  • Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.

  • Assures that the products are delivered on schedule and meets the quality standards of the company.

  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools and human resource requirements.

  • Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.

  • Works closely with Operations, Materials, and Customer Service in preparing timeline of product.

  • Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

  • Prepares applicable reports.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related field and at least 5 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Range:

$74,800.00 - $124,960.00
