Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for (planning, scheduling and monitoring) the movement of materials and returns through the production cycle to determine required materials needed to complete a job. This position develops specifications for new contract orders, evaluates vendor reliability, and develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate. The job is further responsible for timely planning inventory control of material as assigned, and performing the following duties under minimal supervision, independent decision making in company policy framework.

May assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards (i.e. GLP, GMP, ISO,). Tasks and assignment tend to be simple and straight-forward in nature. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (other duties may be assigned):

  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.

  • Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, collaborating with management, sales, production or engineering.

  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

  • Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.

  • Assures that the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.

  • Perform quality assurance reviews of production records for compliance including good documentation practices.

  • Review purchased products and provide input to the decision to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.

  • Support calibration program ensuring compliance to ISO 17025 and Customer requirements.

  • Support document control and configuration management processes.

  • Administer QMS Training program.

  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality activities to management.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.

  • Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to achieve goals and deadlines.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in a regulated environment preferred, e.g., FDA, DOD, DOE.

Language Skills: In language official to country/province: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to develop routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Should be able to figure percentages and proportions, plus the concept of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving intermediate difficult variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a general knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.

Other Essential Duties

  • Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Attention to detail is a must.

  • ASQ CQA certification preferred.

  • Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100.

Other Qualifications

  • Active DOE “Q” Clearance Preferred

  • US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.

  • Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately +/- 5%

  • Experience with radiologic and radiation contamination prevention and monitoring programs preferred.
