Job Description

The Quality Administrator will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving the quality management system (QMS) at Teledyne Defense Electronics. This position will involve extensive management of quality documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update quality management system documentation, including policies, procedures, work instructions, forms, and records.

  • Create, revise, and archive quality documents ensuring they meet regulatory and organizational standards.

  • Coordinate the review and approval process for quality documents, ensuring timely completion and dissemination.

  • Manage document control systems, both electronic and physical, ensuring all quality records are properly indexed and easily retrievable.

  • Ensure that all documentation is up to date and accurately reflects current practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare and organize documentation for internal and external quality audits, ensuring readiness and compliance.

  • Assist auditors by providing necessary documents and records during audits.

  • Track audit findings and follow up on action items, ensuring timely resolution and documentation of corrective actions.

  • Collect, compile, and analyze quality data from various sources.

  • Generate and distribute quality reports, charts, and graphs for management review.

  • Maintain records of quality metrics and performance indicators, tracking trends and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Document non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective action requests (CARs), ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Assist in root cause analysis and the development of corrective and preventive actions.

  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions, maintaining detailed records throughout the process.

  • Maintain supplier quality records, including audits, performance evaluations, and correspondence.

  • Document and track supplier non-conformances and corrective actions.

Assist in the evaluation and approval of new suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in a quality assurance role, preferably within the defense or aerospace industry.

• In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.

• Strong understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools.

• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in quality management (e.g., CQIA, CQPA, or similar).

• Experience with quality management software and systems.

• Familiarity with defense and aerospace industry regulations and standards.

• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
