Teledyne is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Lithium Ion Custom Battery Fabrication Team. What you will be doing:

  • Serve as “hands-on” Manufacturing Engineer on project team dedicated to assembly of lithium ion and lithium metal batteries

  • Design and implement tools and processes to manufacture new products

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead changes to improve product quality

  • Identify and implement new equipment and processes

  • Develop process parameters for a variety of manufacturing assembly operations, including heat sealing, laser welding, laser cutting, ultrasonic welding, resistance welding, and battery winding

  • Train technicians with assembly techniques; some "hands-on" assembly work may be required

  • Perform equipment setup and minor equipment repairs

  • Troubleshoot assembly issues and implement corrective actions to minimize recurrence

  • Assist with product design decisions and changes

  • Develop comprehensive work instructions and process controls

  • Generate and implement work area layouts / participate in 6S initiatives

  • Prepare and present technical presentations to customers as it relates to product line issues

What you need to bring to the table:

  • B.S. in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology required.

  • 2 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with tool design (SolidWorks preferred), process parameter development, machining equipment operation, and laser welding highly desired

  • Ability to interact with various departments and good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Creative thinking, self-motivating, problem solving skills, and a desire to remain current with emerging technologies.

  • Solid mechanical aptitude and proficiency in the use of hand tools.

  • Must be a US Citizen in order to obtain a security clearance.
