Job Summary:
Performs project administrative management duties involving cross-functional teams focused on delivery of internal products or administrative systems. Reviews schedules and project budgets for compliance and status. Monitors programs/projects from initiation through delivery and interfacing with internal customers or department personnel. Organizes project activities and interdepartmental meetings; ensures communication facilitates completion of the program/project on schedule and within budget constraints. Requests for Engineering Assistance (REA), Material and CAPEX management IAW department requirements.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Understand and coordinate project administrative requirements with engineering and operations.
• Request for Engineering Assistance (REA) management - Drive the REA process and conduct weekly reviews to status current REAs and review new REAs.
• CAPEX Management - Obtain all CAPEX documents from project managers or engineering leads for new CAPEX request (Justification, ROI, etc.). Enter all CAPEX REQs into SAP that are budget approved and follow up on the approvals. Order CAPEX items after approval of CAPEX REQ (if material is not in project inventory). Work with finance monthly on CAPEX accruals for CIP (CER in process for EDM/NPI units not ready for capitalization). CAPEX (fixed asset) Audit.
• Project Status Meetings - Organize weekly project status meetings. Assure action items are assigned and status. Update actuals for projects when needed. Run and support engineering support meetings.
• Project Material Support - Order all project parts and departmental expenses for engineering using SAP. Track all project POs and deliveries. Create/update all unreleased BOMS for new projects (sub-assemblies and final assemblies). Notify engineering buyers of newly released parts to obtain quotes, includes also new sub-assemblies working with MFG planning for creation of router and obtaining cost roll. Send all new quotes to leads on new projects to determine if we are ready to quote and obtain quantity needed. Inventory reduction (working also with OPS).
• Project Support - Update hours report for all projects/overhead weekly. Update OPEX/Professional actual spending weekly. Provide JEs for accruals to finance on NRE/Professional services on invoices not in dolphin. Create all new part numbers for engineering projects. Setup a prototype BOMs in share file for engineering and project management to use for requesting new part numbers, for tracking all purchases and/or assemblies builds, and loading lead times. Track COGs for engineering prototype builds. Order all project parts and departmental expenses for engineering. Track all project POs and deliveries. Create/update all unreleased BOMS for new projects (sub-assemblies and final assemblies).
• Product Sales Support - Approve all New Sales orders submitted by the sales team for engineering (ensuring what is being sold is the correct configuration per the customer request and all items are released). Create all new LRUs for PDX/MCO production released product and submit ECO for review and approval and release (includes Boston SF280 COB new request).
• GTC support - Submit all JC request through the OCR system for all released part numbers, including LRUs. If a JC focal 1, support engineering and product management with JC classification on unstructured data through TITUS.
• Integrated Master Schedule support - Assist with schedules as necessary.
Job Qualifications:
• 10+ years’ relevant experience in an Engineering / Operations / Manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree: Master’s degree preferred (program management or technical degree).
• Experience as a New Product Introduction Project Manager is a plus.
• Experience working with Contract Manufacturers.
• Ability to understand and interpret financial summaries, supply chain, cost structure and cost reduction strategies for products.
• Ability to understand engineering documentation and product development processes, and ability to discuss with suppliers.
• Familiarity with MS Project and SAP is a plus.
• Experience working with multiple internal groups and sites.
• Experience in Defense and Security industry preferred.
• Strong business acumen with ability to establish trust and confidence with customers, employees, peers and executives while driving for results.
• Team-player attitude with high energy level and ability to get things done by working with and through others.
• Able and willing to travel up to 10% domestically.
